You won't have to miss you regular 5k parkrun over the festive season this year.

Despite it being Christmas Day, Bridport St Mary's parkrun will still be going ahead at 9am in St Mary's playing fields.

A member of the organising team said: "Santa is ready, the elves are making the last minute pressies and we have enough volunteers to put on the Christmas Day Bridport St Mary's parkrun - so the show will go on.

"Normal time, normal place, fancy dress positively encouraged, and bring your own mince pies and coffee in a flask as we can't share any because of Covid and nothing will be open. Please also bring any goods for the Cupboard Love food bank.

"The town council have kindly helped us to have one toilet to be open in the East Street car park in town between 8am and 10am. It's a little further than our normal South Street loos, but Bridport is a small place.

"We look forward to seeing you there."

A parkrun is planned to go ahead on New Year's Day if the team can get enough volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, contact the team at [email protected]
