Bridport St Mary's parkrun to go ahead on new Year's Day

Start the new year with a 5km run, jog or walk and join Bridport St Mary's parkrun.

The popular event will be going ahead on New Year's Day and everyone is welcome to take part.

More than 90 people took part in the first ever Christmas Day St Mary's parkrun, 24 of which were first time runners at the Bridport route.

An organiser said: "It was great to see so many people turn up, many bringing family members with them to either run or volunteer. A huge thank you to the 26 volunteers who made this event possible - your contribution is always appreciated, but especially on a wet Christmas morning.

"For many of us, parkrun is always the highlight of every Saturday, and this weekend was no different - just made more special by the fact it was Christmas Day. However, being able to take part in parkrun on Christmas, this year in particular, was even more special."

If you want to take part, make sure you register and take along your barcode.

If you would like to volunteer, email [email protected]
