Classical music, West End and Broadway hits and the drama and poetry of Shakespeare are all coming to Mapperton House and Gardens this summer.

From West End to Broadway brings stage musicals to life on Sunday, July 10 when Alison Carter, one of the country's leading musical theatre performers, with West End musical director John Donovan on piano perform live renditions from hit songs we all know and love.

Open-air Shakespeare from the Castle Theatre Company takes over the gardens on Sunday, July 17 for two performances of The Comedy of Errors. Combining the farcical dilemmas of mistaken identity with the desperate search for love, this glorious play explores the blissful, chaotic and hysterical reunion of a long-lost family.

Renowned cellist Steven Isserlis will be performing in the intimate surroundings of All Saints Church, Mapperton, in the evening of Tuesday, August 9.

Acclaimed worldwide for his profound musicianship and technical mastery, cellist Steven Isserlis enjoys a unique and distinguished career as a soloist and chamber musician. He will be accompanied by pianist Melvyn Tan and the programme will include the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata and the Moscheles Sonata Op 121.

Back to the drama and Kick In The Head productions brings Three Men in a Boat, with Giles Shenton playing the part of Jerome K Jerome, on Sunday, August 21: a hilarious tale of men behaving badly while messing about in boats.

There's the opportunity to relax in Mapperton's gardens and enjoy your own picnic before all the performances, so bring a picnic basket, chairs and blankets!
