The Bridport businesses still going through the second lockdown

Following Boris Johnson's announcement of a second four-week lockdown in England, non-essential shops, gyms and the hospitality sector are having to close from Thursday.

Many local businesses will be severely impacted by having to close, so we want promote them and highlight which ones will be carrying on in a takeaway capacity, online or can continue to operate as normal.

Here's a list of business in the Bridport area that are still going:

Dark Bear Bar will be delivering cocktails. Check darkbear.shop for the menu and delivery to your area.

Chris Stubbs and Son Electrical will be continuing if anyone needs any electrical work or emergency. The team is fully equipped with masks and sanitiser. Visit the website for more information.

Bridget's Market Will be delivering six days a week to those who can't make it to the shop in East Street. Call the shop on 01308 427096 or message the page on Facebook.

Photographer Doug Chalk, who usually sells his calendar on Bridport Market, will not be able to sell it but it is available by emailing [email protected]

The Half Moon in Melplash will be offering takeaway and delivery. Call 01308 488321 or visit halfmoonmelplash.co.uk

The Sundorbon Indian restaurant in South Street will be open seven days a week, offering free delivery in Bridport and available for eight miles. Call 01308 425266 or visit sudorbon.co.uk

Mercato Italiano's online shop and Bridport basket are still available, up and running. Visit mercatoitalianoshop.uk

Bennett's Mechanical Services will still be operating but you must call in advance to discuss issues on 01308 487921 and not go into the premises.

The Ropemakers pub will be offering takeaway from Friday, November 6. The menu can be seen on its Facebook page and call 01308 421255 to order.

Washingpool Farm will continue to have its shop open but the cafe will close. One person per household in the front five cars shop only shop at one time. It is open 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Longs Fish and Chips all have to close its restaurants but will continue its takeaway service.

Naturalife in South Street will remain open and delivering to people within a five-mile radius of the shop for spends £20 and over. Visit Naturalife Bridport's Facebook page for more information.
