There are only three weeks left to help save St Mary's Church House Hall.

Donors to the community space's Crowdfunder appeal have been sharing their fond memories of events held there.

One said: "Attended Sunday school there, was in various children's concerts there, appeared in Bernard Gale School of Dancing pantomimes there, socialised there and much, much more."

Another said: "Thanks to the building and the many groups who use it, I've spent lots of enjoyable mornings, afternoons and evenings there."

One donator said: "I'm missing the dancing."

Hall chairman Monty Crook reports further donations have slowed a bit but have now exceeded £2,680 in total, versus an ambitious target of £10,000.

Trustee Simon Wakely hopes that with three weeks left to run, there will be a 'last minute' surge to help the hall through this difficult year and into a brighter 2022.

A fundraising campaign was launched as the community hall faces an uncertain future after having to close and local groups and organisations having to cancel events at the venue.

Residents have been showing their support for the hall, with one donor saying: "Church house is a real asset to the town and long may it continue."

Another said: "Having spent many happy hours in the place with all sorts of organisations - from Monday club to twinning association."

To donate, visit crowdfunder.co.uk. Donations can also be made by cheque, payable to St Mary's Church House Hall and sent to Church House Hall c/o 97a North Allington, Bridport, DT6 5DZ.
