Two long standing volunteers have been awarded the exemplary Bridport Barracudas lifetime membership award.

Fred Fowler and Mark Hoskins were both presented with the award at Bridport Leisure centre where both the waterpolo team and swimming club train.

Bridport Barracudas was formed in 1995 and only six people have previously been awarded the lifetime membership for their continued commitment towards the club.

A spokesman for Bridport Barracudas said: "Fred was one of the two founding members of the waterpolo section with Bridport Barracudas and has shown dedication to the team throughout his time at the club. It is thanks to Fred that the waterpolo team has kept going through thick and thin, and with a team of volunteers at his side, the junior and senior waterpolo teams are going from strength to strength."

The spokesman added: "Mark has been a highly values member of Bridport Barracudas since it was founded and has leant his experiences to guide the swimming club and help it grow and achieve success. He is a regular volunteer official at many swimming galas and never fails to show his support and commitment.

"Bridport Barracudas is delighted to present the awards to show its appreciation to Fred and Mark and would like to pass on its congratulations to both."
