Dorset Council has approved plans for a heat pump at Pilsdon Dairy Farm

A ground source heat pump system has been agreed for Pilsdon Dairy Farm at Pilsdon.

It will provide energy for the farmhouse and two holiday lets.

Dorset Council has approved a planning application which will see more than a kilometre of pipework placed underground. When water is passed through the system its temperature increases to supplement conventional methods in the home heating systems.

A planning application says that the coils of piping will be buried approximately a metre below the surface with little visible evidence that it is there, with all the other equipment inside.
