A touching video tribute to the coronavirus vaccination response at Bridport medical centre has been created following the taking down of the clinics' marquee.

It provided somewhere for patients to sit after their vaccinations, a base for briefings for volunteers helping during the clinics - a place for members of Bridport's community to come together to support an incredible effort to vaccinate residents.

The marquee coming down has been a moving and poignant time for all those involved.

A spokesman for Bridport Coronavirus Community Support said: "The marquee provided a dry, warm(ish) place for patients after their Covid vaccinations at Bridport Medical Centre throughout 2021. It was also the base for the volunteer marshals from Bridport Coronavirus Community Support who supported the clinics through rain, sleet, snow and sun.

"As a place where briefings happened, new friendships were formed amongst fellow volunteers and staff and vulnerable patients were supported, the dismantling of the marquee was very poignant.

"The overall clinic volunteer leader, Peter Thomas, was present to see the marquee taken down."
