Local people and visitors to Bridport will soon be able to top up with tap water for free, thanks to a new Wessex Water refill point.
The water company will be installing the refill point in Bucky Doo Square from Monday, January 18, although it will not be turned on until the current Covid-19 restrictions have been eased.
Once in use, it will be cleaned, maintained and inspected regularly to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and water quality.
Wessex Water worked with Bridport Town Council to install the refill station in a bid to encourage people to drink more tap water and avoid using single-use plastic bottles.
Kirsty Scarlett, Wessex Water's head of community engagement, said: "The water refill point has been installed in a great location in Bridport to keep residents and visitors hydrated.
"This is just one of the many water refill points we will be installing across the region as part of our mission to reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles we all use.
"We are pleased to be able to work with so many local communities who share the same aim of promoting refill over landfill."
