West Bay Road has reopened to traffic.

Wessex Water has been carrying out works and it was anticipated the road would be closed until December 24.

Verges along Marsh Barn Road, the diversion route, have started to wear away and cause a dip, which has sometimes made it difficult for drivers to pass each other.

But West Bay Road is now open, with traffic lights operating while works continue by Wanderwell.

A spokesman for Wessex Water said: "The closure has now been lifted and two-way traffic lights will be in place until work is completed.

"We'd like to thank residents and road users for their patience and co-operation."
