What's On This Weekend in Bridport: Film festival, vintage market and celebrating May Day

Here's your Nub News weekly round-up of what's on in the Bridport area this weekend...

All Weekend: From Page to Screen
Bridport's annual film festival, From Page to Screen, got underway earlier this week but there is still plenty to enjoy this weekend, including screenings of recent releases Emily and She Said. The Memento Film & Memory exhibition will also be open in the Allsop Gallery at Bridport Arts Centre.
Saturday: Coronation Concert
Start the coronation celebrations early with this concert organised by the Rotary Club of Bridport, featuring the Weymouth Salvation Army Band and Timbrels.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 7pm for 7.30pm at the United Church in East Street, Bridport.
Sunday: Bridport Vintage Market
The St Michael's Trading Estate will, as always, be an exciting and interesting way to spend your time on the last Sunday of the month, March through to October at the Vintage & Antiques Market. Supporting local businesses and local services, you can make a day of visiting Bridport Vintage Market providing you with the opportunity to find a wide range of antiques, vintage, collectable, clothing, items and pieces of decor.
Sunday: Mayfest
Bridport Community Orchard will once again ben celebrating springtime with its annual Mayfest event – this year to be held on the slightly earlier date of Sunday, April 30.
The event will be held from 12noon to 3pm at the community orchard behind St Mary's Church, in the heart of Bridport.
Alongside the traditional celebrations with the May Queen and Jack-in-the-Green, there will be refreshments, games, a range of music, dancing and other entertainment, and some lovely sheep to set the scene!
Bank Holiday Monday: Morris dancing at dawn
Wyld Morris will be dancing to welcome in the May Day dawn on Stonebarrow, Charmout, at 5.30am and at Felicity's Farm Shop, Morcombelake, at 9am on Bank Holiday Monday, May 1.
