The Jubilee weekend is underway with an electric atmosphere on the first day of celebrations.

People came together to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with tea parties, street parties, garden parties and more, enjoy entertainment, music, activities and great food.

Symondsbury Estate hosted a very busy garden party, with music from Harvey Causley, garden games, guess the year of the Queen's portrait and creating long tables for people to enjoy and share lunch.

Burton Bradstock also held a grand fayre with games, bric-a-brac, the much-loved pig racing, tea and cake in the village hall and much more.

Wendy Thorogood held a garden party to celebrate and raise the profile of the Association of Child Protection Professionals and decorated her garden with bunting and balloons.

There was music, a hog roast and bonfire at Allington Hill in the evening before the lighting of the beacons.

On Coneygar Hill, people join the mayor of Bridport, councillor Ian Bark, the Rev Pete Stone, town crier John Collingwood and others as the fire was lit. The New Elizabethan Singers sang and the bugle played.

Across the day crowds were in a great mood, enjoying the sunshine and celebrations. Visit our Facebook page to see even more photos.
