The mayor of Bridport and his wife were the first passengers to take a journey on trishaws for a new project (just before Bridport Nub News) - with a trip from West Bay to Bucky Doo Square.

Councillor Ian Bark and his wife, Anne, enjoyed the ride and waved to passers-by on a trishaw, which was used to promote Cycling Without Age Bridport - a group hoping to bring trishaws to the town to help elderly and disabled people get out and about.

West Dorset MP Chris Loder

West Dorset MP Chris Loder has said the extension of coronavirus restrictions announced on Monday is not in Dorset's best interests.

To mark Refugee Week 2021 - June 14 to 12 - chairman of Bridport Museum, Professor Karen Hunt has been taking an in-depth look at Bridport's history of welcoming and supporting refugees.

During the First World War, the town welcomed Belgian Refugees. Many of them had lost everything and few could speak English. Bridport provided furnished accommodation, food and financial support. Many Bridport people - women, men, children, workers as well as employers - were energetic fundraisers.
