It has been shown that loneliness can be the start of mental health challenges, with isolation and anxiety leading to mood changes, poor sleep and loss of energy, some of the warning signs that mental health is being impacted.

Bridport Leisure Centre has been awarded £19,000 to enable it to bring back the wetside changing rooms when the centre reopens.

It has been awarded £14,000 from Sport England 'Return to Play' grant and £5,000 from Symondsbury Parish Council's 'Recovery' grant.

Bridport Town Council says the Dorset Council Local Plan "must do more to meet Bridport's needs".

The town council finalised its response to the draft local plan and is calling for major improvements to the document.

Litter Free Dorset is inviting Bridport residents to a community workshop to discuss ways litter can be reduced in the town.

This year, Litter Free Dorset will work closely with five communities between March 2021 and March 2022 to reduce litter and pollution within West Dorset. This is part of a wider project managed by Dorset's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team (AONB) - Greening West Dorset's Hills and Vales.

ADVEARSE, the group campaigning against more than 750 homes at Vearse Farm, is encouraging residents to respond to the draft Dorset Council Local Plan.

Members of the group have been contacted by supporters and in response has posted some comments on ADVEARSE's website about issues residents might like to comment on.

A dead dolphin washed up on West Bay's East Beach.

West Bay Coastguard was alerted by Solent Coastguard National Maritime Operations Centre to investigate and record details of the dolphin on Tuesday evening.

The conversion of a former Netherbury garage into a home has been agreed by Dorset Council – despite local objections.

Brewing company, Palmers, had asked for the Brandon Garage in New Inn Street, just off The Square, to be converted to a two-bed home with the addition of a first floor. A kitchen and living-dining area will be created downstairs and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

The Bridport Garden Glut stall returns to St Swinthun's Church car park tomorrow (Thursday) with even more on offer.

As well as the usual surplus food, there will also be ready meals, kindly donated by local businesses including Red Brick Café and The Ropemakers pub.
