Cross Pollination

Bridport Arts Centre

8th Feb 2022 - 5th Mar 2022

UNTIL Saturday 5th March

Bridport Arts Centre is hosting a cross-pollination programme utilising its gallery space.

In the second half of January, the arts centre opened up the space to four young artists, bringing their practice, ideas and selves for two weeks of playful co-creation and shared process.

It was an opportunity for the artists to explore their own practice, share their skillset and ideas and learn from their peers in a new environment. The form and outcomes of this project were largely determined by the artists involved who will decide stimuli, modes of group exploration and independent work that grows from their time in the space.

The artists were:

Angelica Pownall, a contemporary artist and fine art graduate who explores a variety of themes derived from observations on society and self.

Theadora Brazier a figurative painter whose work is concerned with the expression of joy and empowerment, in relation to the human body and our connection to our surroundings.

Grace Crabtree is also a figurative painter whose work shifts between historical and contemporary references, and between the human figure and landscape.

Jessie Wybrew is a mixed media artist who draws her inspiration from nature and through her work she attempts to capture the experience of both being in the landscape, and her emotional and sensory responses to place.

The exhibition of their work is open until March 5.
