Every month we're highlighting a local, independent business in the town.
This month it is Bridport PC Repair.
Pete Butler opened the shop in East Street in 2016 after turning his hobby into a business.
"I have been doing repairs and PC work since I was 16 and it turned into doing it in my spare time," he said, "but then every hour of my spare time I was queued up to drive around the country picking up computers.
"If I could do this for free, just for the satisfaction, I would. For me the satisfaction is fixing the item. If you ask anyone who does repairs, they will say there is this moment when you go, 'bloody hell, it works'.
"Working out why it's not working is what I enjoy."
Pete, who is joined by Sean Topp at Bridport PC Repair, offers PC, Mac, tablet, games consoles, laptop and desktop repair, screen replacement, data recovery, virus and spyware removal, memory and hard drive upgrades and much more.
They can also offer microsoldering, enabling them to repair rather than replace in some circumstances.
Pete added: "We have the ability to fix the damage rather than replacing and I think that sets us apart from other places."
The pair have done more than 12,000 jobs, with the weirdest being repairing an electronic whistling hobo.
"I've done things like people's mobility beds, controls for massage beds and some random things, car ECUs (engine control unit), but the most bizarre was a whistling hobo, mostly because I had never seen one before, never thought I would get one through the door. It took me by surprise that's for sure."
They can do home visits in the immediate local area in special circumstances, but the shop is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.
