There was a great atmosphere and turnout of people in Bridport this afternoon in anticipation of Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley cycling through the town.

He is on an epic endurance challenge - Tom's Hell of a Homecoming - in aid of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day, in which he is cycling, rowing, running and swimming to his hometown Plymouth from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

And he passed through Bridport town centre just after 2.15pm today (Wednesday) when crowds cheered and waved the diver on for the final leg of his journey.

He came in from the A35 from Dorchester, down East Street and West Street and back onto the A35 by Symondsbury to go towards Chideock.

It was wonderful to see and to be involved in this lovely community who came out to support Tom on his incredible fundraiser.

You can see a video of Tom cycling through Bridport on our Facebook page.
