Every week we will be sharing a circular walk in and around our local area with directions and photos. We use the OS Map app, which is very useful if you are out walking.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will be able to receive the walk first every Friday and be able to enjoy it over the weekend.
This week's walk is around Burton Bradstock in is around two and a half miles, taking just over an hour. It is easy walking with a couple of hills.
Start on Annings Lane and there is a footpath opposite the turning for Norburton, go down there and when it opens out into a lane, turn left, continuing straight when the path becomes grassy.
Continue along this path, over a wooden bridge and along the river. After crossing a second small bridge, the path meets a track, go straight over and follow the path through a field.
Go over two small wooden bridges and follow the path round to the left, continuing straight through the campsite, staying on the grass path.
The path will come to a stile, go over it and stay on the left-hand side of the field and at the end, follow the path round to the left and then the right before going diagonal through the field towards a barn. Pass the barn with it on your right and follow the path round to the right behind it.
When the path comes out onto a track, continue straight but turn left onto the road, turning back on yourself to walk up the road.
Continue along the road until you come to a track on your right, which is a little overgrown and muddy. Here you can always just continue along the road - Annings Lane - back to the start. Take the track and continue straight when it opens up with fields either side and go through a metal gate and up through the field, sticking to the right edge.
When you get to the next field, turn left to walk along the edge of the field towards some houses and go through the metal gate just below the homes. Follow the path to the road and turn left to walk along the road.
Just after Norburton Hall on the left, there is a stone stile and a footpath. Go down there and walk through the housing estate, following the road round to the left and you will be back at the start.
This walk is just a suggestion, you can of course take any different routes you wish to make it more direct or make it longer. Always take extra care where the ground is uneven or wet.
Please leave gates as you find them - if you opened it, close it.
Please keep dogs on leads around livestock.
