Selected as the first-ever Radio 3 New Generation Baroque Ensemble, Ensemble Molière have gained a reputation as an established early music ensemble throughout the UK and Europe.

They will be performing at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday, April 21 as part of the spring Concerts in the West programme.

Ensemble Molière is made up of Flavia Hirte on flute, Catriona McDermid on bassoon, Satoko Doi-Luck on harpsichord, Alice Earll on violin and Kate Conway on viola da gamba and cello.

Their unique combination of instruments provides memorable and creative programmes from the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, all performed on historical instruments, at venues such as the MAfestival fringe in Brugge and London Festival of Baroque Music.

Ensemble Molière recently premiered their first cross art opera project Pygmalion, part funded by Arts Council England, and released their first EP, a collection of French baroque dance movements entitled 'Dance Sweets', which is available to buy online.

They will be at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday, April 21 at 11.30am. Tickets are now available by calling 01308 424901, via the website www.bridport-arts.com or at Bridport Tourist Information Centre. Tickets can also be purchased on the door from 11am by card.

Discounted tickets are available for those with a valid student card and are free for children under 12 accompanied by an adult.

As part of the Concerts in the West programme, Ensemble Molière will also be performing at Ilminster Arts Centre at 7.30pm on Friday, April 21; at The Dance House in Crewkerne at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 22; and at The Church of St Roch in Pendomer at 3pm on Sunday, April 23.

Full details and ticket information are available at www.concertsinthewest.org

Concerts in the West is a small but energetic arts charity, which organises and promotes an annual series of high quality classical and baroque concerts at regional venues in Somerset, Dorset and Devon.

The charity is run by a small group of trustees who are all very committed and hands-on, bringing their expertise to the charity.
