Members of Dementia Friendly Bridport are active again as its exercise group is back up and running.

Specifically for people living with dementia and their carers, the group meets every Tuesday afternoon at Bridport Leisure Centre for gentle exercise, lots of fun, music and games. There's also time for a chat afterwards over refreshments.

The group is run by Ally, an experienced instructor who works very hard to understand the needs of the people in the group and she will tailor the activities if required. An experienced volunteers from the Dementia Friendly Bridport group also attends to offer support.

Debra Bates, chairman of Dementia Friendly Bridport, said: "After such a long time, it was very important to be able to restart the group as so little has been available during the last year for people with dementia and their carers. It is a very special group and Ally has created a lovely atmosphere."

If you or someone you know would like to sample a session at the leisure centre, call Debra on 07890 649561.
