Are you mushroom-mad or do you fancy a forage for fungi?

The fast-growing local mushroom farm Chideock Champignons is now offering tours and an introduction to mushroom growing as well as dates for 'fun-filled fungi forage forays'.

During a 90-minute session you will have a tour of the farm in Chideock, and an enthralling introduction to mushrooms and the types grown on the farm and a lesson on how to grow your own.

You will also walk away with your own mushroom growing kit.

If you want to go one step further, foraging trips to the local woodlands will be available from August. In small groups of eight people, you will learn how to forage in a safe and responsible way, the vital role of fungi in the local ecology as well as identifying difference species of mushrooms.

Co-founder of Chideock Champignons, Nick Phillips, told Bridport Nub News: "We won't promise kilos and kilos of mushrooms to take home with you as that's not what we're about, but we promise a wealth of knowledge, lungfuls of fresh air and a great time had by all at a safe distance, if required, of course.

"We've secured some great foraging rights from like-minded local landowners, so all walks will be conducted within a reasonable short distance of CCHQ. Also, for some of the walks we will hold a pre-walk breakfast to show you how we eat our favourite fungi - further details to be sent upon booking."
