Stoke Abbott Street Fair

Stoke Abbott's annual Street Fair, on Sunday 20th July, kicks off with the traditional 'Stoke Abbott Sick Club' parade from the New Inn at 1.45pm, a tradition dating back to 1870. Edward Morello MP will then officially open the event at 2pm, alongside the Town Crier.

There will be an array of stalls, live entertainment, cream teas, vintage tractors, games, ferret-racing, food and drink tastings and the ever-popular Book Barn amongst the attractions.

New for 2025, there will be a Games Garden and quiz with lots of fun challenges for all ages. Discover Farming, with hands-on activities for youngsters, and a free family Magic Show with The Big Foolini at 3pm are also lined up.

There's live music and dancing throughout the village, food stalls and home-made cream teas; the New Inn, now under new management and reopening shortly, will be serving drinks all afternoon.

Free car parking is available on the road into the village from Beaminster only (the village lanes are closed throughout). There is an entry fee of £2 per adult (children free) and the entire event is cash only.

Proceeds will go to St Mary's Church, the Village Hall and the Friends of Mountjoy School.
