Big-hearted Bridport ensures elderly don't go without a Christmas present as around 150 are donated
There has been an overwhelming response to the Bridport Community Campaign for Christmas, with around 150 presents going to care homes.
The campaign was launched last month with the idea to provide the elderly in our town with no family to receive a present this Christmas.
Christmas trees at Groves Nurseries, Spar in West Bay and Morrisons with names of all the people in care homes who have no one and an indication of what they would like for Christmas.
Residents did an amazing job of taking a tag, buying a present and handing it over at the checkout.
Michelle Holme-Good, who is leading the campaign, said: "The response has been amazing and overwhelming to be honest. Bridport has an amazing and full heart.
"A big thanks goes to Groves Nurseries, Spar at West Bay and Keira Tait, Morrisons Community Champion."
Michelle believes around 150 presents were donated and she still has more to deliver, as well people also donating gifts for the staff.
