The body of a man has been found in the area of Sea Road North.

Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene this afternoon and a cordon was put in place in Happy Island.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 3.18pm on Friday, May 7 from the ambulance service reporting that a man had been found deceased in the area of Sea Road North in Bridport.

"Officers have attended the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin has been informed."
