A new Asian inspired pop-up takeaway in West Bay is going down a storm.

Bowlcut set up shop at The Durbeyfield less than a month ago and has already had sell-out evenings and great feedback.

Niamh O'Mara and Charlotte Evans started the venture, cooking hand-made noodles, ramens and more on Friday and Saturday evenings.

They said: "Our first weekend we sold out of all our dishes to our surprise - we found it quite stressful as we have high expectations for ourselves, but we were completely overwhelmed by the amount of lovely support we had from family, friends and local people.

"We have a huge passion for hand-pulled and hand-made noodles. Hand-pulled noodles are a speciality in Shaanxi, a northern region in China. They are a wide, flat and chewy noodle, pulled out to order! We also offer a hand-made ramen noodle.

"We pride ourselves on using seasonal, local and organic produce where possible.

"Our dishes are influenced by the East Asian street food style of vibrant and complex flavour profiles. Think sweet, salty and Umami rich sauces and broths topped with fresh and tangy toppings.

"We put a lot of love into our dishes so that is why we have a small but refined menu where only our favourite dishes have made the cut for the bowl."

You can find Bowlcut every Friday and Saturday at The Durbeyfield, which has outside seating and a fire pit, and you can enjoy a drink from the The Quarterdeck bar with your food this weekend.
