Three new books will be launched by The Butterflies and Amazonia Project in Burton Bradstock

The Butterflies and Amazonia project is launching three new books, all with the common theme of the

the Amazon and other rain forests and drawing attention to the urgent need to prevent their destruction. These are:

  1. The Amazon Forest and its People in Black and White, by Sir Ghillean Prance, Former Director of the Royal botanical Gardens at Kew
  2. Vicar of the Amazon: the Reverend Arthur Miles Moss: in the footsteps of Alfred Russel Wallace and Henry Walter Bates, by Prof Philip Howse
  3. The Spider-winged Cupid and the Platypus (featuring the incredible insect mimics that are to be found in tropical forests), by Prof Philip Howse

This event will take place at Burton Bradstock Village Hall at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 27. It will be introduced by the award-winning travel and nature writer Brian Jackman.
