Restaurants in the Bridport area and across West Dorset have been nominated for the prestigious Trencherman's Awards.

The Station Kitchen in West Bay and Brassica in Beaminster are among those shortlisted.

The Trencherman's Guide was launched in 1993 as the gourmets' guide to the very best eating experiences in the South West and it's built a reputation as a solid source of great dining destinations.

It holds annual awards to support and celebrate the South West's independent food and drink industry.

After receiving almost 10,000 votes in the first round, shortlisted nominees have now been announced and the public are invited to vote for their winners.

The Station Kitchen in West Bay has been nominated for Best Front of House, while Brassica Restaurant in Beaminster is up for an award in Creativity & Innovation.

Lyme Regis restaurant Robin Wylde has been nominated for Best Restaurant, while is acclaimed owner Harriet Mansell has been shortlisted for Best Chef.

Celebrity chef Mark Hix's Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis is also up for Best Restaurant, while The Millside and seafront restaurant Tom's, both also in Lyme Regis, have both been shortlisted for Best Front of House.

Chef Nigel Bloxham from the Crab House Cafe in Wyke Regis is nominated for an award for Special Contribution.

Voting closes at 11pm on January 19 and the finalists will be revealed on January 24 ahead of an awards ceremony at Salcombe Harbour Hotel in March.
