Bridport artist Marion Taylor is taking readers on a visual journey from Bridport Harbour to West Bay with the launch of her new book.

Following on from the success of Marion's first book - 'Colmer's Hill, One Artist's Obsession' - she has now written another in the same format but on West Bay.

'West Bay' looks at 22 artists who have been drawn to depict West Bay, or Bridport Harbour as it was known until the arrival of the railway line in the 1880s when the name West Bay was used to rebrand the harbour as a resort.

The artists in the book span more than 200 years, beginning with William Daniell and JMW Turner, taking the reader through to contemporary artists such as Alex Lowry and David Inshaw. Many of the present day artists are represented by Sladers Yard Gallery and Anna Powell, gallery director was written the foreword to the book.

Marion Taylor said: "West Bay is a book that is not only visually attractive and informative but also full of historical information, words by some of the contemporary artists and amusing anecdotes."

The book is in hardback and is available for £18 from mariontaylorart.co.uk, Sladers Yard, Little Toller Press, The Book Shop, Cilla and Camilla and Sou Sou West Gallery in Symondsbury.
