Bridport Arts Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of new director Claire Tudge.

Claire is a Dorset-based arts professional who has worked for a range of well-known national and international arts organisations, and was most recently working for the Arts Council of England, supporting organisations and artists across the South West.

Specialising in programming activity that focuses on community engagement, and working with children and young people, Ms Tudge is passionate about the positive impact that experiencing art can have on an individual or a community.

She commented:"I am thrilled to be taking over the role of director of Bridport Art Centre. It is a huge privilege to have custodianship of this organisation, particularly as it celebrates its 50th year.

"I am looking forward to working with the communities of Bridport and West Dorset, and the artists and organisations who make this town such an exciting place to live, work and visit."
