What is Beautiful? Bridport Arts Centre is asking the public that question as it launched a new exhibition which you can be a part of.

This interactive exhibition will run until September 30 and features reproductions of contemporary and historical art, offering you the opportunity to respond to each piece, as well as sharing your own thoughts and ideas on the theme of beauty.

The project includes an interactive gallery where members of the public can come and add to the artwork on display, using materials provided in the gallery.

This is being accompanied by a series of workshops led by local artists and facilitators over the next month, including This started with a Draw a Horse workshop last week, which saw members of the public sketching a real-life horse on the arts centre forecourt, with encouragement from Jo Burlington of Oops Wow Messy Art.

Bridport Arts Centre is inviting you to tell them what you think is beautiful. This can be interpreted as broadly as possible. Perhaps it's the way the light shines on a wet road, or the shape of the hills, or just the way someone you love smiles. What does beauty mean to you?

Share your thoughts in the form of a photo, painting, drawing, or video. Or you may wish to share an object or photograph which you find beautiful or perhaps has special memories attached to it. You may even want to write something down.

To submit your response, either use the materials provided in the gallery at Bridport Arts Centre, take a look at the information on the website bridport-arts.com, or speak to a member of staff. Responses will be displayed in the gallery as part of the 'What Is Beautiful?' exhibition.

You can also find more information on the upcoming workshops on the website above.
