Bridport Business Chamber is hoping to work more closely with the local police, protecting both traders and customers from crime.
The chamber is keen to build a good working relationship with the local policing team, and welcomed Police Community Support Officer Kat Newman to its recent meeting.
Issues discussed included anti-social behaviour, CCTV, when to call 999 and when to call non-emergency number 101, and cyber-crime.
If a crime is in progress, you should call 999 and, if you want to report a crime that has already happened, call 101. For general advice you can visit Bridport Police Station, which is open and manned from 10am to 3pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
PCSO Newman handed out theft packs to traders, which gave advice on how to report a theft, including instructions about how to submit CCTV footage.
CCTV cameras Bridport town centre are currently working and monitored.
Bridport Business members agreed they were lucky to be living and working in a low crime area such as Bridport, but still wanted to remain vigilant.
