We've started a new weekly feature - business of the week - in which we highlight a local business on our local list.

This week it's Tina's Retro Clothing, based in St Michael's Trading Estate.

The vintage clothing store is run by Tina Keating, who has been in retail most of her life, and she started it in 2019.

She said: "I love clothes and things I can style my own way so it's a bit more unique.

"It has evolved over those three years. Originally, I didn't do menswear and people kept asking for it. What I've found is that women also buy men's short-sleeve tops and t-shirts, so they become unisex.

"I have two good friends that sew and they've started doing some rework products, so I've added that into the shop as well."

Tina says she chose vintage clothes as she loves the colours and most items are now one-offs.

"I like that there is a bit of a story behind a vintage piece as well," she added. "I unpacked and steamed a jacket and in the pocket, it had a little spotty silk handkerchief, so you never know the story behind the piece that you buy and I like that."

Tina's Retro Clothing is open from 10am to 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday.

Tina said: "People can expect a unique environment, it's quite eclectic, lots of different pieces, pieces for all ages and sizes and pockets.

"What's really nice, is as I've become more established, I've been buying and swapping stuff with customers and that's been quite fun.
