Dorset Tourism Awards announce Bridport finalists

West Dorset is again very well represented in the Dorset Tourism Awards, with finalists now announced.

This year's awards - which highlights the county's rich tourism sector - have 54 finalists, as well as eight with commended status.

The finalists include:

Café/Tearoom of the Year

  • Tangerine Café and Gallery, Beaminster

Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year

  • Monkton Wyld Holiday Park, Charmouth

Casual Dining and Restaurant Award

  • The Station Kitchen, West Bay

Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award

  • Dorset Forest Garden Glamping, Beaminster
  • West Bay Discovery Centre
Experience of the Year (Active or Learning)
  • Jurassic Coast Guides
Glamping Business of the Year
  • Dorset Forest Garden Glamping, Beaminster
Holiday Park of the Year
  • Golden Cap Holiday Park, Chideock
  • Highlands End Holiday Park, Eype

Pub of the Year

  • The Acorn Inn, Evershot

Self-catering Accommodation of the Year

  • Frog by the Sea, Chideock

Small Visitor Attraction of the Year

  • West Bay Discovery Centre
  • Commended - Bridport Museum Trust
The awards ceremony will take place on February 10 when businesses will find out whether they have won gold, silver, bronze or a special award. Winners of the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award, Apprenticeship Special Award, Outstanding Contribution to Dorset Tourism, Tourism Event/Festival of the Year, Visitor Information Service of the Year and Winner of Winners will be announced at the awards event. John West, trustee at West Bay Discovery Centre, said: "Our small team of manager and volunteers are very excited that once again it looks as though the centre will gain recognition from the award judges for our achievements. We will wait with baited breath for the outcome of the finals. "We are delighted that once again West Dorset is well represented in the finals with visitor accommodation, guides and places to eat and I feel this shows the quality of what is on offer." Awards organiser Robin Barker, of Services for Tourism, said: "Despite everything that has been thrown at them, the awards once again demonstrate the quality, innovation and resilience of leading tourism businesses.
