Bridport Camera Club to continue welcoming top speakers

The coronavirus pandemic put a stop to many local community groups and clubs meeting and events going ahead.
But popularity boomed for Bridport Camera Club, which was able to take meetings online and welcome some top speakers.
And now the club is back with a programme of autumn events, mixing both online and in-person meetings and sessions.
Here's what will be taking place:
• Wednesday, September 8 - Eddy Pearce will talk about community photography and his project, Bridport Lockdown, as well as his work as a professional freelance film location scout
• Wednesday, September 22 - All day workshop in WI Hall, North Street - Legacy Lenses with Tony Bramley FRPS, founder of Light Academy. He will be bringing an array of lenses and conversion rings to try with your camera. In the evening, he will talk on the principles and elements of art in photography
• Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 - Workshop weekend - A Sense of Place with Paul Hill and Maria Falconer
• Monday, October 4 - A talk by Paul Hill MBE and Maria Falconer on photography books
• Wednesday, October 20 Online - Talk by Remy Lloyd ARPS and Esme Lloyd ARPS. Siblings talk on pro studio set up and how to do it at home using domestic lighting, anglepoise, torches and more
• Wednesday, October 27 Online - Lightroom workshop - Martin Sproul's teaching skills bring clarity to post-processing
• Wednesday, November 3 - John and Di Tilsley 'Canada Revisited' - tall trees and tall tales, landscape and nature. A talk
• Wednesday, November 17 Online - Colleen Slater 'Macro Photography with a Difference' - ethereal images of flowers submerged in water, followed by her photography of the urban environment
• Wednesday, November 24 Online - Lightroom workshop with Martin Sproul
• Wednesday, December 1 - Knock Out Competition - a club friendly - prints only and judged by you
• Wednesday, December 15 - Graham Herbert leads a still life practical session. Applying skills to tell a story using inanimate objects and create atmosphere and a 'gothic' feel with lighting and shadows
All meetings take place at Bridport Town Hall - unless stated - at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
A year's membership to Bridport Camera Club costs £30 for adults and £15 for under 18s. Sessions for visitors cost £3 each.
