The Bridport Coronavirus Community Support group is back up and running in light of the imminent second lockdown.

Volunteers are helping residents find the help they need during this uncertain time.

A spokesman for the group said: "Bridport Coronavirus Community Support group is a little community of local people here to help during the ongoing pandemic crisis. We are entirely volunteer led.

"Our aim is to help where we can, direct people in the greater Bridport area to either self-help resources, such as the business directory, and, if need be, vulnerable people to volunteers who can help fetch medications."

During the last lockdown in March and April, the group were even being contacted by those who lived far away but wanted help for elderly relatives who were shielding in Bridport.

"We were able to find neighbours who could deliver a paper, an 'essentials list' so they could order their own shopping, or else arrange for medication or a free hot dinner delivered by Sophie Mears."

Businesses offering takeaway, delivery or services throughout the second lockdown can also add themselves to the website's directory here
