Needles were found containing an unknown drug at St Catherine's R C Primary School Pymore Road resulting in a warning for two men.

Bridport Police received calls from concerned parents of suspicious behaviour behind a hedge opposite St Catherine's R C Primary School.

On arrival, police discovered two homeless males in an old animal shelter, who were asked to leave to prevent further calls from concerned parents.

PCSOs from the Bridport Police Neighbourhood Policing Team returned the day after to make sure the males had moved on and on checking the shelter twp hypodermic needles were found with one of the syringes contained an unknown drug.

The syringes were picked up and disposed of. The two men were given words of advice on how to dispose of any sharps safely.

"We would strongly advise parents to make sure that they tell their children not to touch any discarded needles and to tell an adult so that arrangements can be made for them to be collected," a spokesperson for Bridport Police added.

If you should find any discarded needles you can contact Dorset Council on 01305 221000 or via the Dorset Council website.
