The Bridport Leisure Centre grand raffle was drawn last week with the fundraiser to repair the swimming pool now underway.

As reported recently, a fundraiser was launched with the pool in need of major works, with the costs expected to total £30,000.

Amongst a variety of fundraising events, the raffle was drawn by Mayor Ian Bark alongside Centre Manager, Will Thrower. The first prize was a 12-month Full Access Membership worth £540. Other prizes included 6 and 3-month memberships plus a children's activity/membership, family swim voucher, PT session, fitness class, adult's and children's swim kits, squash racket, and a yoga mat.

In total, the raffle raised £1,881.

In his weekly update, Mayor Ian Bark said: "The raffle is just one of many fundraising activities that will be taking place over the coming months. The swimming pool is an incredibly valuable local resource used by people of all ages and abilities, from learners to power swimmers eating up the miles as part of their fitness regime. So keep your eyes peeled for future fundraising activities and please lend your support by buying tickets or sponsoring someone."
