To celebrate World Mental Health Week, local mental health hub Harmony will be putting on their 80 Days Around the Mind show at Bridport Arts Centre on Monday 10th October.

The evening will showcase the work that Harmony members have done for the UK's Platinum Jubilee's creative arts celebrations. It will be a unique stage and screen arts event exploring our own experiences of mental health through storytelling, spoken word, photography, art and music. Featuring the well-known local storyteller, Martin Maudsley.

After a similar event in June, an audience member commented: "The first half alone reached my own emotions and the second half topped it for me. The talent we have is amazing."

Musical supporter Chris Deacon said: "That was fantastic. I feel privileged to work with Harmony."

Behind the scenes, a lot of effort went into the preparation and production of Around The Mind In 80 Days to put the event together. By collaborating with local artists Members learnt new skills such as writing, storytelling, art and theatre skills.

Participant Roz Copson added: "I am extremely proud to have been a part of it and congratulate our staff and volunteers and especially the members who did everything that was asked of them, and more."

Tickets for the event are available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre (BAC box office), 01308 424901, or from www.bridport-arts.com or at the door.

The Harmony Drop-in is open, Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 10am-1pm, tel no: 07597 379290. The Community Front Room offers crisis support from 3:15pm - 10:45pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, tel no: 07385 290804.
