RNLI lifeguard patrols have ended on some local beaches for the season after a very busy summer.

Whilst patrols have ended on Greenhill and Lyme Regis (Cobb) - lifeguards will still be on West Bay and Weymouth until Sunday 25th September.

RNLI lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset posted on social media: "Just like that, 2022 peak season is over. Another great summer came to an end on Lyme Regis and Greenhill Beach. A season full of sunshine that gave lifeguards an opportunity to help those in need on multiple occasions.

"They handled incredibly busy beaches extremely well responding to rescues, major and minor first aid incidents, and plenty of missing people just to mention a few.

"We wish them all the best during their pursuit of further education and new careers. Lifeguards will remain operational on Weymouth and West Bay Beach every day between 10am and 6pm up until 25th of September.

"Take care when visiting the coast and remember in an emergency call 999 and ask for the coastguard. Take care and see you all soon."
