Bridport Medical Centre will be closed from 12.30pm on Tuesday, April 6.

The surgery is merging its system with the Tollerford Practice, creating the Ammonite Health Partnership.

During the closure, Systemonline and eConsult will be unavailable and for clinical queries that cannot wait until the surgery reopens at 8.30am on Wednesday, April 7, please call 111.

The new Ammonite Health Partnership website will go live on Wednesday, April 7.

The team at the medical centre are also encouraging patients to use an app called Airmid following the announcement a vaccine certification could have a role to play in unlocking the country.

The system could consider three factors - vaccination, a recent negative test, or natural immunity determined on the basis of a positive test taken in the previous six months.

A spokesman said: "So, Boris has advised that patients 'will be able to get their Covid-19 vaccination passport from their GP'.

"You can imagine the additional pressure this will put on your surgery team.

"The best way to obtain this information is via an app called Airmid."

Airmid acts as a personal health record where residents can engage with their care team, view their health records, book appointments, have a face-to-face consultation, access digital health services and identity can be checked remotely via the NHS, so there is no need to take ID to the surgery.
