The annual Melplash Agricultural Show may be cancelled for a second year, but a summer homecrafts and horticulture show will be going ahead.

There will still be lots of classes for both adults and children to enter, including flowers, fruit, vegetables, cookery, preserves, photography, handicrafts and much more.

Show secretary Lucy Hart said: "Although we have slightly reduced the number of classes from a normal show year, there is sure to be a class for everyone.

"The show will take place at West Bay in our show field and will be open to exhibitors only. Sadly, we will not be allowing the general public to come and view the exhibits this year, but we will take plenty of photographs and publish the results on our website as soon as they are available.

"Exhibitors can stage their entries either the evening before the show of on the show morning. We will then close the marquee for judging and exhibitors will eb welcomed back in the afternoon to see if they have been awarded prizes."

The homecraft schedules can be seen here and horticulture schedules can be seen here.

Entries for homecrafts close on Thursday, August 19 and for the horticulture classes, they will close on Monday, August 23.

The show will be held on Thursday, August 26. For more information, visit melplashshow.co.uk
