After an incredibly busy year the team at Groves Nurseries are taking a well-deserved break to spend some time with their families.

The Bridport garden centre has remained open throughout the coronavirus lockdowns, with staff working hard to deliver people's gardening needs.

So now the team will enjoy a day off on bank holiday Monday.

Charlie Groves said: "What a crazy year we've had so far. The whole world seems to have discovered gardening, which is fantastic, but it has meant our wonderful team has been flat out all through the pandemic. Taking in their stride whatever has been thrown at them and adapting to whatever changes have been necessary to keep the business going.

"So, we have decided to take some time out this bank holiday and have a little rest.

"Groves Nurseries in Bridport, Little Groves in Beaminster and Ivy House will all be closed for the day so that we can spend some quality time with our families.

"We will be back on Tuesday, August 31.

"Thank you for your support and encouragement over the past 18 months. We look forward to more normal times in the autumn with our bulbs arriving each week and our biggest and best ever Christmas shop coming soon.

"Thanks for your understanding."
