Parkrun is marking its 50th event this week - and participants are encouraged to wear something red

The popular 5k run - walk or jog - has attracted hundreds of people on Saturday mornings at St Mary's Playing Field.

The red relates to the colour of parkrun's 50 events t-shirt, given to runners who complete 50 runs.

Celebrations will continue on Sunday (October 17) at the White Lion pub from 5pm to 7pm. Enjoy a drink or bite to eat with the parkrun team and po in and say hi.

Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 9am in St Mary's Playing Fields.

The team is always on the look-out for volunteers. Find out more about it here.
