Despite not being able to hold carnival or torchlight processions this year, Bridport Carnival Committee were able to hold some of the much-loved events.

The annual darts, quiz and bingo took place and a children's painting competition was introduced this year and judged by artist Bryon Smith, who commented how interesting the paintings were.

Graham Davies, chairman of Bridport Carnival Committee, was delighted to present the winners with their prizes. St Catherine's Catholic Primary School received £50 as the winning school and the two age group winners each received £20 each with the two runners up receiving £10.

These included Ebby Stevenson-Roberts, Ophelia Elsmore-Bullock, Betsy Blake, Amelia Hodder and Henry Butcher.

He said: "The school said they were delighted to take part and the children thoroughly enjoyed it and the winners were very excited."
