Police investigating a burglary in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The incident took place between approximately 8.30am on Saturday, September 9 and 2pm on Sunday, September 10 at a residential property in the area of Lee Lane.

It is reported that the offender caused damage gaining entry to the property and stole several items of jewellery of great sentimental value to the victim.

Police Constable Tim Sturgess, of Bridport Police, said: "Our investigation is ongoing and we have been making a number of enquiries, including house-to-house, to identify the person responsible.

"I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area of King Charles Way and Lee Lane to please come forward.

"Also, I am keen to hear from anyone with relevant footage – either from dashcam or home CCTV."
