Bridport: Residents urged not to leave bonfires unattended

Bridport Fire Station are reminding residents to never leave a fire unattended after firefighters were called to a bonfire.

A crew was called to a fire in the open on Bredy Road, Burton Bradstock on Saturday just before 8pm.

On arrival crews gained access to a commercial yard and found a small unattended bonfire. They put it out using on hose reel jet.

A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "If you're having a controlled burn, never leave it unattended and always have safety measures in place should it go out of control."
