Bridport Round Table is teaming up with the West Dorset Family Partnership Team to provide emergency support for families in need at this time.

Round Table is allocating £2,000 to support one off, urgent purchases of items such as food, clothes, homeware and more, which some families are in desperate need of.

The West Dorset Family Partnership Team is based at the Children's Centre by St Mary's Primary School.

A spokesman for Bridport Round Table said: "The family partnership team will continue its excellent work of supporting families, highlighting to us those instances where we can make a material difference.

"Whilst it may not be life-changing, we do hope that it can take some of the pressure off those who need help the most.

"This is all possible due to the support the local community provides, whether by attending Round Table events or by generously donating to our online fundraising efforts. So, thank you!

"If you have any questions or wish to support this initiative, please email us at [email protected]."

Bridport Round Table organises the annual Beer Festival in conjunction with Bridport Food Festival, the fireworks display at Bridport Leisure Centre and the Boxing Day West Bay Wallow, all of which had to be cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The group also raised thousands of pounds to provide Christmas hampers for families in need in and around Bridport over the festive period last year.
