Every month we will be sharing a circular walk in and around our local area with directions and photos. We use the OS Map app, which is very useful if you are out walking.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will be able to receive the walk first and be able to enjoy it over the weekend.
This month, we wanted to choose a flat route suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, so it is a 1.5mile route around the town.
Start at the football club car park and take the pavement next to the river to pass the football club on your left.
Walk through St Mary's Playing Fields and about half way through, go over the bridge on your right. Just after a left-hand turn there will be a gravel path on your left, take it and go through the community orchard before coming out behind St Mary's Church. Follow the path to South Street and turn left.
Walk through the town and at the town hall, turn right to walk down East Street. Keep going and just past the Bridge House Hotel and after a bridge, there will be a sign to Asker Meadows on your right. Go down that path, walking next to the river. Continue straight and you will come to Asker Meadows.
Continue through Asker Meadows until you see a grassy bank in front of Morrisons supermarket. A path goes to the right. Follow it until you meet the road and cross over at the pedestrian crossing. At the next crossing by Palmers Brewery, turn right to go down towards the football club and the start.
This walk is just a suggestion, you can of course take any different routes you wish to make it more direct or make it longer. Always take extra care where the ground is uneven or wet.
Please leave gates as you find them - if you opened it, close it.
Please keep dogs on leads around livestock.
