The Allington Hillbillies is looking for volunteers to join its team managing a local wildlife habitat.

The group that looks after Allington Hill and Cooper's Wood and Field has vacancies for people to join them.

A spokesman for the group said: "Have you done an online course through lockdown about British wildlife, looking for outdoor social activity, or in adult education and need to build up knowledge and hands on experience?

"We would also like to work with local businesses who encourage their employees to volunteer for the local community.

"We have lots of opportunities to help enhance and protect wildlife habitats and to meet local people. Our two-hour sessions throughout the winter season are Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings and some Sundays, starting at 10am. Anyone ager 17 and older are welcome."

Meet at the main gate to Allington Hill, Cooper's Wood and Field in Hospital Lane at 10am or email [email protected] for more information.
