A campaign to spread a bit of cheer this Christmas and bring a Nativity scene to Bridport has raised more than half the funds it needs - but still needs your help.

The Lyric Theatre is hoping to bring a handcrafted, illuminated Nativity scene to Bridport for passers-by to enjoy during December.

The scene has been made by artist Edwina Bridgeman, who is keen for it to be at The Lyric and has offered to cover the majority of the costs herself, if £1,190 can be raised towards it.

More than £800 has so far been raised for the cause.

Niki McCretton, owner of The Lyric Theatre, said: "Since announcing our Crowdfunder, we have been wowed by support and donations so far. But we can't sit comfy just yet."

There's just nine days left to raise £1190 towards the Nativity scene being installed in The Lyric Theatre.
